It has been a challenging time for everyone over the past 18 months due to the pandemic and associated lockdowns. We are doing our best to plan towards reopening CIAM classes when the restrictions are eased. As you know, the State and Federal Governments are encouraging adults and adolescents to be double vaccinated as soon as possible. It has become clear that when vaccine targets have been reached later this year, greater freedoms will probably only apply to people who can provide proof of their vaccinations. The NSW Government will also be conducting a trial for a vaccination passport.

The NSW Government has announced that vaccinations will be mandatory for teachers from November 2021. Vaccines have also been approved for school students who are 12 years of age or over.

So, what does this mean for CIAM? As we provide face-to-face teaching, it is likely that we will need to comply with the same requirements as schools and other educational organisations. More importantly, we want to keep our teachers and students safe.

We would like our current and future students to consider how they can share their vaccination status with us when classes resume. This could be in the form of a vaccination passport when it is available. Vaccination history can also be downloaded from Medicare via the MyGov website. Medicare will need to be linked to your MyGov account to access this information.

We also expect that the wearing of masks and social distancing in our classes will continue to be required for the foreseeable future.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
